Antithesis

What is it?
An Antithesis is a person or thing that is the direct opposite of someone or something else. 2 ideas put together to contrast.

What is it's effect / why  is it used?
It is used to emphasize the contrast between phrases or clauses.

Find the well known example.

Language features - Anaphora

Anaphora

What is it?
reference to already introduced referents, needs to be the same to antecedent.
E.g. Peel and slice six potatoes, put them in cold water.
Other than using the word 'Potatoe' twice, you can use the word 'them' since it also refers to the word potatoe.

What is the effect / why is it used?
Anaphora has the effect of engaging your audience in a particular emotional experience.
It is used to appeal to the emotions of the audience, in order to persuade, inspire, motivate, and encourage them.

Find a well known example:
There are many examples of anaphora in Elie Wiesel's book "Night,"
In Ch 2, Mrs. Schacter repeats the phrase, "Fire ! see a fire! Look at this fire!" quite often. It made the people on the little railcar very irritated. Anaphora is important in this book because it lets the reader know the importance of the quote.

Group Performance

What grade did I get?
I got a Merit

Was I happy with my grade?
Yeah, I was alright, but I was a bit disappointed with my voice though, despite that I still got a merit so...

What were the challenges of working in a group?
to me it was sorta hard being on time with the others, Although we managed to get it right at the end.

What did I enjoy most about this task?
What I enjoyed most about this task was performing with my friends and having laughs with them.

Film Review

Movie: I, Robot

Did you enjoy the film? Why/Why not
Yeah I did, I enjoyed it because it had a lot of mysteries in it. and that it had a lot of action scenes which got me hooked up into it and starting to ask questions like who's gonna die, or will he survive.

 Who was your favourite and least favourite Character and why?
My favourite character would be Detective Del Spooner (Will Smith), because he's a funny guy, but also because He hates robots which got me thinking why. So that made me want to watch the movie to know what his history was with the robots. My least favorute would be John Bergin (Chi McBride) because at the start he never believed what Detective Del was tryna say to him and basically bots everything.

What did you think of the ending?
I think the ending was very well done, I love how it ended with the dream that sonny had, and how he thought that is would be Detective Del that would be standing in front of all the robots, but it ended up with himself standing up there.

How would you have ended it differently?
Nah the ending was to good, I wouldn't even think of another ending !

What themes/messages/ ideas do you think the directer was trying to across?
You can't always rely on Robots to do everything, (just bc they think they know everything), Never rely on anyone that doesn't have feelings (basically cold hearted).
You should only Trust the people you know, other than Robots and strangers.

I need to work on playing the guitar and making sure it's on time with the rest of my group
