What reasons does Ellie give Lee for not wanting a relationship with him?
With all the things going on around them, she thinks stopping this invasion is much more important than having a lovy dovy relationship. Plus she is still confused with her feelings for Lee.

"It was my feelings for Homer that stopped her from going to Lee"(page 194).
Man, I was so surprised when I read that small sentence.
What do Ellie and Lee find in the Hermit's hut that the other don't know?
A box full of papers, letters, notebooks, photos, and a heavy bronze medal.
According to the coroner's report, what are the two possible ways the Hermit's family died...
They'd either got shot in the head first, then get burnt, or, Get burnt alive, then get shot.
Which do you believe? Why?
I probably think that B.H.S.C shot them in the head first, then burn them, because why would he want to burn them alive, when he's just getting rid of the deceases.
What is the hermit's mother in law's attitude towards him as seen in her letters?
She acted like Hermit didn't do anything wrong.
What does this suggest about the way in which the Hermit's family actually died?
Hermit didn't kill them in malice.
What makes Ellie change her mind about Lee on the way back from the Hermit's hut?
'I don't want to end up like a coroner's report." She doesn't want to end emotionless.
